Why Choose Us

Our Family Serving Your Family

Locally Owned and Operated

Our family has served thousands of Western North Carolina families in their time of need, and we are honored by the confidence they have entrusted in us. Since the founding of Anders-Rice Funeral Home & Cremation Center in 1937, we have maintained consistent helpful service throughout the many changes that have occurred over the years in our industry. Anders-Rice has always placed a strong emphasis on providing personalized services to meet each and every family's needs.
Anders-Rice is not part of a distant corporation but is a local family-owned business.

Providing a Complete Range of Service Options

We offer complete end-of-life services including traditional, non-traditional, transportation, body donation services, and on-site cremation. We also provide pre-need planning and pride ourselves on providing open, honest consultation regarding personal and financial advice.

Caring and Compassionate Staff

Achieving the best in final arrangements is ultimately the result of knowledgeable, thoughtful, and caring people. The staff at Anders-Rice is steeped in experience and sensitivity for the traditions and customs of our mountain community. We operate as a family to provide thoughtful, caring services …for your family.

Personal Experience

At Anders-Rice Funeral Home we strive to make a personal connection with each family we serve. We therefore try our best to have the same funeral director follow each family’s service through, from our first meeting to arrange service details, until the end of the service and beyond. At many funeral homes you will never see the same face twice, but that is not the case at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Many of our families build a bond with our individual funeral directors and request them by name when the time comes to call on us again.

On-site Crematory

At Anders-Rice our crematory is on the premises, and once your loved one is in our care, they will not have to be transported to another facility. Many funeral homes subcontract this delicate procedure out to a third-party provider (sometimes in another town) where the funeral home has little or no control over the crematory's operating procedures. Often, the family incurs additional transportation expenses and needless delay.
Our crematory is one of the most up-to-date, state-of-the-art, computer controlled units available. Our crematory room is designed to accommodate viewing and/or memorial tributes, as well as seating for a religious tribute.

Facilities

In addition to our on-site crematory, we offer a beautiful chapel to provide a dignified and honoring service for your family. The chapel dominates our architecture and is a landmark in the community. Our chapel can accommodate up to 175 people with fixed seating and with supplemental seating as many as 225. We also have several comfortable rooms to accommodate family viewings, visitations, and services.
