Betty Louise Messer

Asheville - Betty Louise Messer, 79, of 1921 Hendersonville Road, died Friday August 17, at St. Josephs Hospital after a period of declining health. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Edward Connelly and Marie Rhymer Messer and was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, J. C. and Carl Messer and a sister, Leatha Autrey. Surviving are her sisters, JoAnn Messer Pless of Asheville and Marilyn Messer Smith of Charlotte and lots of nieces and nephews who all loved her. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with a private burial following. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
