Velda Wilson

Woodfin - Velda Eleanor Dillingham Wilson, 73, of 174 Jonestown Road, died Tuesday March 4, 2008 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired from Memorial Mission Hospital as an LPN following over 25 years of service. She was a daughter of the late Locke Shuford Dillingham and Ruby Bell Dillingham Pegg and the wife of the late Harry Allan Wilson, Sr. Surviving are her children, Harry Allan Wilson, Jr. of Asheville, Larry Wilson of Sneedville, TN and Revonda Wilson Taylor and husband Eddy of Asheville; sisters, Patricia Carter and husband Burnette of Asheville and Brenda Rash and husband Leroy of Mars Hill; brother, Jimmy Dillingham and wife Miriam of Arden, brother-in-law, Van Wilson and wife Frances of Newport News, VA and 6 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elk Mountain Cemetery.
