Ronald "Ron" Lewis Penland

Ronald “Ron” Lewis Penland, 67, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at his residence while surrounded by his family.

A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Charles Ray Penland and Myrtle Victoria Fisher Ligon. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Josh Martin; and brother, Ray Penland.

Ronald was a devoted and loving husband and father and loved The Lord. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Melinda Ann McKinney Penland; daughters: Belinda Crowder and husband Mike Limon, Tabithia Martin, and Jessica Jenkins and husband James; grandchildren: Aaron Fisher, Kaleb Fisher, Wesley Hyatt, Zack Hyatt, Layla Martin, and Ryder Jenkins; ten siblings; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, June 28, 2025, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Rev. Jeff Tomberlin officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
