Rev. Robert T. Taylor

Weaverville Rev. Robert Theadore Taylor, 93, of 888 Barnardsville Highway, passed away Friday, September 14, 2007 at Magnolia Health Care. A native of Greenville, SC, Rev. Taylor had resided in Buncombe County since 1946 and was self-employed as a painting contractor. He was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church and had attended Ivy Park Baptist Church. He had been a pastor of several churches in the Western North Carolina area. He was the son of the late John Robert and Annie Moore Taylor, and was the husband of Vluarie Jane Shelton Taylor, who passed away March 16, 2007. He was also preceded in death by two sons: Harold T. Taylor and Robert Jerry Taylor; and a daughter, Evelyn Joan Hensley. Surviving are his daughters: Carolyn Foster and husband Clifford of Candler and Bobbie Jean Fender of Fletcher; 22 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Monday at Faith Independent Baptist Church, with the Rev. Philip Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Ivy Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 PM Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
