Porter Bynum Wilson

Asheville - Porter Bynum Wilson, 77, Died Tuesday March 27, 2007 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church and attended North Asheville Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was the son of the late Walker Hicks and Dollie Matthews Wilson and the husband of the late Barbara Ann Whitted Wilson. Surviving are his son: Porter H. Wilson of Asheville; daughters, Darlene Guyton of Asheville and Diane Patterson and husband Tim of Weaverville; sisters, Nell Rinker of PA and Ann Williams of Candler; granddaughters, SRA Jessica Guyton of Eglin Air Force Base and Mychela Patterson of Weaverville. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. George Patterson officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff of John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center for the love and care given to Porter.
