Odus Brockwell

Asheville - Odus R. E. Brockwell, 74, of 118 Florida Avenue died Friday June 11, 2004 at his home after an extended illness. A native of Avery County he lived most of his life in Buncombe County. He was a member of Gods Filling Station and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a son of the late Robert E. and Bertha Brockwell and the husband of the late Frances Brockwell. He was also preceded in death by a son, Grady E. Brockwell and 3 brothers, Junior, Bob and Grady Brockwell. Surviving are his daughter, Judy Frederick of Fletcher; sons, Rev. Steve Brockwell of Asheville, Ronnie Brockwell of Weaverville, Robert Brockwell of Leicester and Russell Brockwell of Asheville; sister, Helen Allen of Ocala, Fl.; 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. A very special thanks to Debbie Brockwell for her assistance of his care. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Brockwell officiating.
