Mildred Christine Laughter Glover, born on June 25, 1943, in Henderson County, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025, in Flat Rock, surrounded by her loving family. Mildred was a beacon of caring and love, dedicated to nursing and helping those in need throughout her life.
As a longtime member of Maranatha Baptist Church, she touched the lives of many and created lasting bonds within her community. Mildred's profound commitment to her work and her family underscored her character, showcasing her unwavering support and nurturing spirit.
Mildred leaves behind her cherished children: Larry Allen Glover and his wife Melody, Cynthia "Cindy" Leigh Glover-Hoxit, Sheri Denise Gaffney and her husband Ryan, and Steven Wayne Glover and his wife Tracy. Her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren: Cody Glover, Cory Glover, Audrey Gonthier, Kristen Tinsley and her husband Greg, Michael Hoxit, Ethan Gaffney, Amberly Glover, Kyler Glover and wife Alexis, and Jayda Glover, as well as her great-grandchildren: Lane Tinsley, Natasha Hoxit, and Addison Glover.
She is also survived by her beloved sisters: Hazel Stricklin, Martha Sue Campbell, and Patricia West; along with her brothers: James "Jimmy" Arthur Laughter, Jr., Clyde Eugene Laughter, and James Earl Laughter; step-mother, Juanita Laughter; and many nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, D. Lee Glover, who remains honored in the memories of those who loved them together. She was also preceded by her parents, James Arthur Laughter, Sr., and Mary Louise Kent Meece and Harry Lee Meece, her sister Linda Kay Henderson, and her brother James Douglas Laughter.
Mildred's visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 1:00 PM, both taking place at Anders-Rice Funeral Home, located at 1428 Patton Avenue, Asheville, NC 28806. Her son, Rev. Steven Wayne Glover will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hendersonville. As we remember Mildred, let us carry forward her gentle spirit and her loving heart, which impacted countless lives throughout her journey.
