Matthew Milburn Bray

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Matthew Milburn Bray, of Leicester, NC, who departed this life on September 8, 2025, at the age of 51, surrounded by his loving family.

Matthew was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a loyal friend. Born and raised in McCracken Kentucky, he lived a life defined by quiet strength, unwavering integrity, and deep compassion for others. Matthew loved to play music and loved his precious family.

He spent his time working in the maintenance industry as a floor technician, taking great pride in honest work and leaving behind a legacy of care in everything he built. But more than his work, Matthew will be remembered for his gentle humor, his love of storytelling, and his ability to make others feel seen and heard.

He is survived by his wife Krystal of 8 years, their children: Avery Brooke Bray, Kayleigh Sebastian, Sawyer Bray and Elizabeth Bray. His mother: Marilyn Ann Block. He is also survived by his siblings: Rose Peavey, Les Bray, and Frank Bray and his nieces: Alexus Peavey and Cassie Peavey, and friends whose lives he touched in quiet and meaningful ways.

Matthew is preceded in death by his father Franklin Delano Bray.

Though he is no longer with us, the kindness and wisdom he shared live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
