Martha C. Calloway-Buice

Asheville Martha Ann Cowan Calloway-Buice, 80, of 58 Branning Street, went to be with her Lord on Friday, October 31, 2014 at her home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired from W.T. Grants where she served as credit manager and was a longtime member of Westwood Baptist (Craven Street). Mrs. Buice was the daughter of the late George Elmer Cowan and Gladys Hendrix Cowan and wife of Robert Sam Calloway who died in 1980 and Verdell Buice who died in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her son, Marshall Calloway who died in 1987 and sister, Betty Cowan McFeeture who died 1996. Surviving are her son, Michael (Mike) Calloway of the home; grandsons, Anthony Calloway and Brandon Calloway; great grandson, Jeffery Calloway and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, November 4, 2014 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Carson Moseley and Mr. Raymond Tweed officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
