Maria Dolores Tovar

Maria Dolores Tovar, known fondly as Dolores, passed away peacefully at her home on June 28, 2025, at the age of 75.

Born on March 30, 1950, in Mexico City, Mexico Dolores was the daughter of the late Samuel Tovar and Antonia Colin. She later made her home in the United States, where she became a beloved member of the community.

Dolores was best known as the heart and soul behind Jose and Dolores Mexican Restaurant on Haywood Road, which she proudly owned and operated for many years. Her warm smile, delicious food, and deep care for her customers made her restaurant a cherished gathering place and a local treasure.

She had a true love for people and her community, often capturing everyday moments through the lens of her camera. Her photos reflected her joy in life’s simple beauties, from shared meals to quiet corners of her world.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Guillermina Velazquez.

She will be remembered for the love she gave, the meals she shared, and the life she lived with quiet grace.

At this time, no services are planned.
