Lla Leet Hudson

October 12, 1938 — January 30, 2015

Mary Lla Leet Lance Hudson, 76, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 30, 2015 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Alexander Dobie Perkins Lance, and Edythe Viola Merrell Lance. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Wahynell Bordeaux; brother, Carroll Lance; and niece, Marcella Bordeaux Glaspy. Lla Leet retired from the City of Asheville in 1989 after 31 years of service, and was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church. She was a faithful wife, and devoted mother and grandmother who was extremely proud of her family and deeply cherished her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert Reid Hudson; son, Rev. Jeffrey Hudson and wife Rebekah of Arden; brother, Gary Lance and wife Mary of Edneyville; grandchildren: Lacy Guerlain, Lance, Lyndi, and Landrey; and 8 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 1, 2015, at 3:30 PM at West Asheville Baptist Church with Revs. Jeffrey Hudson, and Jamie Johnson officiating. Graveside services will be held Monday, February 2, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hendersonville. The funeral procession will leave Anders-Rice Funeral Home on Monday at 1:00 PM to go to Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30 till 3:15 PM Sunday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Redeemer Community Church, Building Fund, 339 Averys Creek Road, Arden, NC 28704.
