Linda Faye Dacus

Linda Faye Dacus, 64, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014 at her residence. A native of Houston TX, she had resided in Buncombe County for the past 8 years. Linda was a daughter of the late Freeman Ronald and Louise Guidna Billings Mapes. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Donnie Mapes. Linda attended Discovery Church, and enjoyed a lifelong passion of volunteering time with the elderly. She is survived by her husband, Charles Edward Dacus, Jr. of the home; children: Stella Renee Altman and her husband Lewis, Charles Edward Dacus III, Gwendalin Sherry Dacus Goldsmith and her husband David, and Heath Joshua Dacus all of Candler; sisters: Betty Puckett, Beverly Mapes, Maria Dacus, Roseann Rendon, and Valerie Arenal all of Texas; grandchildren: Amy Rae Huerta, Amber Melinda Dacus, Ashley Faye Lorraine, Angel Renae Hyler, Jonathan Edward Dacus, April Roseann Beaver, Cassidy Shiann Dacus-Goldsmith, and Derek Dewane Carpenter Goldsmith; Great Grandchildren: Aubrianna, Alyiah, Eric, Kyle, Hayden, Ariella, Maliki, Mercedes, and Lillian; many nieces and nephews, and her dog Tilley. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Brent Keating officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 till 8:00 PM Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
