Larry W. Morgan

Alexander Larry Winston Morgan, 61, passed away Friday, December 14, 2007 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Transylvania County, he has resided in Buncombe County since 1998. He retired from DuPont following 27 years of service. Following retirement, he worked at Ace Hardware in Weaverville. Mr. Morgan was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church where he was a member of the choir and participated in the Prison Ministry. He was the son of Inez Chapman Morgan of Denton, MD and the late Lewis Morgan. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Dottie Lowe Morgan, and a sister, Regina Morgan. Surviving in addition to his mother are his beloved wife, Kay Connor Morgan, of the home; children, Dwayne Morgan and wife Lisa of Rosman, Donna Bryson and husband Keith of Rosman, and Deena Owen and husband Danny of Lake Toxaway; special niece, Paige Dolan; grandchildren, Jessica Morgan, Avery Owen, Camden Bryson and Dakotah Morgan; step-children, Stephanie Jencen and husband John of Hartford, WI, Tim Schneck of Cartersville, GA, and Tom Schneck and wife Charann of Leicester; step-grandchildren, Jade, Chandler, Austin, Colton and Brent Lee; sister, Rita Kudlich and husband Dick of Denton, MD; father and mother-in-law, Norman and Robena Connor of Alexander; sister-in-law, Ginny Rentmeester and husband Pat; brother-in-law, Earl Connor and wife Kathie and a special loving thanks to MaryAnne Hyder and Kelly Hendricks for their special loving care in the past 10 months. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joe Chapman, Rev. Scott Reece, Rev. Chester Chappell and Rev. Ricky Rackley officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah Gardens in Brevard. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Because of family allergies, the family requests no flowers, and wish that memorial donations be made to John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center / Care Partners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813, or to Middle Fork Baptist Church Missions Fund, 2824 Pickens Hwy, Rosman, NC 28772.
