Asheville - Kenneth Glenn Kenny Messer, 40, of 101 Morris Street, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 3, 2006 at his residence. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Kenny was a 1986 graduate of Asheville High School, and was previously employed at Borg Warner as an assembly line worker. He was kind-hearted and loving, had a wonderful sense of humor, and was an avid NASCAR fan. Kenny was the son of Joan Baker Messer Silvers of Asheville, and the late Council Glenn Messer, who passed away in 1975. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Council and Bethel Messer; and maternal grandfather, Dewey Baker. In addition to his mother, surviving are his step-father, Ronald Silvers; sister, Pamela Sprinkle and husband George of Leicester; brother, Jeremy Silvers of the home; maternal grandmother, Margaret Baker of Asheville; niece, Jessica Honeycutt and husband Nathan of Woodfin, nephew, Nathan Troutman of Leicester; his dog, Sheeba; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and loved ones, including special loved one, Betty Jo Romano, and lifelong best friends: Eugene Bo McGlaughlin and Steve and Deena Hyatt. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Ralph Sexton, Jr. and Rev. Jerry Young officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
