Joyce Mae Thomas

Asheville - Joyce Mae Thomas, 94, formerly of 164 New Haw Creek Road died Friday March 21, 2008 at The Oaks of Sweeten Creek. A native of Means, KY, she lived in Buncombe County for the past 66 years and was a retired waitress and of the Baptist Faith. She was the daughter of the late John and Laura Yarber and the wife of the late Wayron Thomas. She was also preceded in death by four sons, Courtney Cornwell, John Cornwell, Calvin Cornwell and Weeden Cornwell and a daughter, Pauline C. Donofrio. She is survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Skyland with the Rev. Cecil Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
