Joyce Haney Davis

Joyce Haney Davis, born on February 6, 1951, in Haywood County, North Carolina, entered the gates of Heaven peacefully on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at her home in Weaverville.

Joyce grew up in the Emma Community of Asheville and was a graduate of Erwin High School and continued her education at St. Genevieve College, where she earned a secretarial degree. Joyce eventually owned her own medical dictation business and stayed in the field of management and administration. She was deeply involved in her local community, epitomizing the spirit of service, which was evident in her long-standing membership at Ridgeway Baptist church for over 20 years. Here, she developed strong connections and had a heart for service.

Joyce’s proudest accomplishments included raising her family with love and care in Summerville, South Carolina. Where she not only nurtured her children but also became a beloved mother to her extended family and friends. She had a passion for UNC Basketball and enjoyed cooking shows. A remarkable grandmother, Joyce took immense pride in her grandchildren, Kyra, Kamya, Samantha and Hunter, as well as her great-grandchildren, Elleanoir and Cove. Her love for flowers, plants and pets (especially her dogs over the years) brought joy and beauty to her life, paralleled by her rich devotions to faith, love and kindness.

Joyce is survived by her children, Kristie Payne and husband Steve, and Kelly Allen and husband Shannon; her brother Jeff Haney and wife Michelle; Sister-in-law, Penny Haney; and a host of nieces and nephews, and extended family who will carry forward her legacy of compassion and cherished memories.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Noah Haney and Rose Marie Ray Haney, her brothers, Bob Haney, and Michael Haney. Joyce’s love and sweet spirit will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Ridgeway Baptist Church in Candler, North Carolina. Following the visitation, a Memorial Service will be held that same day at 11:00 AM at the church.
