Joanna Elaine Angy Sasscer

Joanna Elaine Angy Sasscer, 68, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 21st, 2025, at Mission Hospital.

A native of Melbourne Beach, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Angy and Mary Hughes Angy and wife of the late Joel Frank Sasscer who passed on August 26, 2023.

Joanna moved to Bryson City in 1992, where she raised her children and helped to operate Camp Living Water.

Surviving are her children: Joshua Russell Sasscer and wife Leah, Julie Sasscer Widman and husband Jeremy, and Hannah Sasscer; grandchildren: Micah, Abigail, Eva, Gabriella, Elise, Ezra, Ayla, Maggie, Iris, Lilah, Eden, Noah, Jeremiah, and Jaden; siblings: Steve Angy and wife Barbara, Jimmy Angy and wife Sharon, and Joey Angy and wife Bonnie; and many nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025, at Waynesville Christian Fellowship: 1115 Dellwood Rd, Waynesville, NC
