JoAnn Marlowe Dalton, 90, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at her residence while surrounded by her family.
A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a homemaker and a longtime member of Cedar Mountain Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, known for her hard work and love for The Lord.
She was a daughter of the late Fred Louis Marlowe and Mabel Wilson Marlowe, and wife of 58 years of the late Mack “Tom” Dalton who passed away on August 31, 2012. She is also preceded in death by her siblings: Burgin Marlowe, Eva Miller, Johnny Marlowe, and Evelyn Merrill.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son: Stan M. Dalton and wife Gayla; daughters: Pamela Dalton Hodgin and husband Alex, and Terry Dalton Erickson; grandchildren: Brooke Williams (Kent), Ashley Dalton, Justin Dalton (Samantha), Josh Hodgin (Tori), Ian Hodgin (Brittany), Megan Hodgin, and Jake Erickson; great-grandsons: Hunter Williams, Mason Dalton, Mac Hodgin, and Lee Hodgin; many beloved nieces and nephews; and many extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, June 20, 2025, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Rev. Jimmy Page officiating. A private burial will follow at Cane Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 till 2 PM Friday prior to services at the funeral home.
