Jerry Swartout

Mars Hill - Jerry Earl Swartout, 60, of 345 Manor Road, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at the Madison Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center. A resident of Asheville, he was the son of Quinn Jerry Swartout of Wagram, NC and the late Elsie Mae Rusfeldt Swartout. Jerry was well loved by his family and he loved them. He often found humor in the different and difficult situations of life. He was quite the joker and would get tickled even at his own jokes. Jerry was an unforgettable character and he will live on big in our hearts! Surviving in addition to his father are his sisters, Linda Carillet and husband, Paul of Weaverville, NC and Debra Welch and husband, Harry of Matthews, NC; niece, Tiffany Ashworth of Eugene, OR; nephew, Christopher Welch and wife, Rachel and their son, Caleb of McAdenville, NC; niece, Angela Welch of Matthews, NC and Sara Swartout "step mom". The memorial service will be at Madison Health and Rehabilitation in Mars Hill on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 2:00 pm.
