Asheville – Janet Rose Palandro Vossen, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 2, 2024, at Care Partners Solace Center while surrounded by her family.
A native of New York, she had resided in Buncombe County since 1997. She was a daughter of the late Charles Palandro and Phyllis Ameo Palandro. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Richard Vossen; sister, Phyllis Plate; and brother, Charles Palandro, Jr.
Mrs. Vossen enjoyed gathering with her friends, “The Ladies”, to enjoy eachother’s fellowship while playing Mahjong.
Surviving are her daughter, Donna Parker and husband Stephen; son, Michael Cordiale and wife Cathy; grandchildren: Nicklaus Sparrow, Bradley Sparrow and wife Angelica, Michael Cordiale and wife Hannah, Jaiden Cordiale, Hunter Payne and wife Kaitlyn, and Madison Cordiale; great-grandchildren: Elleanoir Payne and Diego Allen; and nieces and nephews: Darlene Sterenberg, Gret Plate, Sue Dickey, Barbara Montgomery, Chuck Plate, and Tim Plate.
Memorial services will be held at 4 PM on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Gospel Tabernacle, 16 Brickyard Road, Asheville, with Rev. Jerry Hensley and Rev. Michael Cathey officiating and Peyten Cathey singing. A committal service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, August 12, 2024, in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends following the service on Sunday at Gospel Tabernacle.
