James “Jim” William McMillan, Jr., 77, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Mission Hospital.
A native of Whitmire, SC. He worked for many years at Ecusta Paper Mill, was a member for 45 years of Sunrise Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Jim enjoyed his time coaching youth sports, especially little league. He had a passion for serving Christ through his work at the church as Youth and Children’s Director.
Jim was the son of the late James William McMillan, Sr. and Mildred Nelson McMillan, and was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Paul Mann; and sister-in-law, Dianne Martin.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, whom he married July 19, 1980, Donna Tallant McMillan; Children: Cheryl McMillan Overturf, Kellye McMillan Macy (Brad), “Jamie” James William McMillan, III, and Dustin Tyler McMillan; grandchildren: Brittany, Cadence, Lola, Audrey, Luca great-grandchildren: Beau and Buckley; siblings: Linda Mann and Kay Bean; several nieces, nephews, and extended family, and six beloved Jack Russels.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3pm on Sunday, July 6, 2025, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Rev. Bill Higgins officiating. Military honors will be conducted by U.S. Navy.
The family will receive friends from 1 till 2:45pm on Sunday prior to the services.
