James Harold "Buddy" Lovin

James Harold Lovin (Buddy) passed away peacefully May 26, 2015 at a local hospital surrounded by his loving family. He went to be with his Lord and is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jane Ellen Lovin, a woman of Christ. Buddy was a generous and kind person, always looking for opportunities to be of service to those in need. He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Chumney Lovin and father, Alvin Harold Lovin, and brother, Bill Lovin. Buddy was from a large, loving family, sister Geraldine Jenkins and her husband Dwight of Mills River; sister-in-law, Deborah Lovin of Enka-Candler; brothers: Bobby Gene Lovin and wife Carol of Asheville, and Jerry Alvin Lovin and wife Brenda of Raleigh; niece, Shana Lovin-Flores (Armando); nephews: Michael Lovin (Brittany), Matthew Lovin (Amber), Jonathan Lovin, and David Lovin; and great nephew, Miguel Flores. Buddy served his country with honor in the Vietnam War and will be interred in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC. Memorial services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, June 2, 2015 in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Randy Melton and Rev. Eric Hardman officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Reed Memorial Baptist Church, Matthews Fund, 756 Fairview Road, Asheville, NC 28803.
