James Dennis "Jd" Austin

Leicester James Dennis J.D. Austin, 54, of Leicester, went to be with his Lord Thursday, October 11, 2007 at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mr. Austin was employed by Larry Spillars and the Triple M Express. He was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Austin was the son of Morris and Frances Powell Austin of Asheville. He was preceded in death by his brother, David ONeil Austin. Surviving in addition to his parents, are his wife, Katherine Walser Austin, of the home; son, Michael James Austin of Asheville; sister, Sandra Austin Ingle and husband Bobby of Asheville; brothers: Morris (Charlie) Austin and wife Joyce and Ronnie Austin and wife Annette, all of Asheville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday at Friendship Baptist Church, 240 Haywood Street, with the Rev. Jerry Wilson and Rev. Steve Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. Nephews will be serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church, and at other times at the home of Mr. Austins mother and father, Frances and Morris Austin, 111 Vinewood Circle, Asheville.
