Harley H. Herron, 81, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Henry Harrison Herron and Ellen Lunsford Herron. He is also preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Natalie. Harley was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean War. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Ethel Herron of the home; daughters: Wanda Lytle and husband Harvey of Fairview, Anita Hazelwood and husband Joel of Mills River, and Rose Natalie and husband Matthew of Macon, GA; sons: Paul Herron and wife Gay, and Roger Herron and wife Rhonda both of Black Mountain; sister, Dorothy Clark and husband John of Clarksville, TN; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 21, 2014 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with John Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
