Gary Myers

Asheville - Gary Wayne Myers, 56, of Asheville, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Hospice Solace Center. A native of Henderson, NV, Mr. Myers had resided in Buncombe County almost 50 years and had worked most of his life as a painter. He was an avid NASCAR and NY Jets fan, and had the ability to find humor in almost anything, no matter how bad the situation. Mr. Myers was a son of Eleanor Jo-an Drascher Myers and the late Edward Randolph Myers. In addition to his mother, surviving are his son, Gary Lee Myers and wife Ashleigh; grandchildren: Cameron, Jayden, Aaron, and Jazmin; sisters: Betty Benson, Susan Smith and Janie Myers; brother, Tommy Myers; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the services.
