Furman Leon King

Leicester - Furman Leon King, 75, of 79 Solomon Road, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he worked as a ceramic tile installer, and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. He was the son of the late James Monroe and Connie Crawford King, and was also preceded in death by two sisters: Ethel Peek and Mary Sue Peek. Surviving are his wife, Joanne Benson King; sons: Roger Leon King of Hendersonville, Thomas Earl King of Marietta, GA, and Brian Stephen King of Leicester; three grandchildren; sister, Janice Barnes of Leicester; and brothers: Bill King and Jim King, both of Leicester. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM Friday at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Joel Burton officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 PM Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
