Ethel Belle Roller Clubb Penley, 87, went to be with The Lord on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at the CarePartners Solace Center.
A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Elford “Jack” Roller and Beulah Morgan Roller; and wife of the late John “Don” O’Donald Penley who passed away on February 5, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Loralei Clubb; sister, Elsie Wyatt; sons-in-law: Ricky Carver, and Eric Carver, Sr; and sister-in-law, Birtha Ballard.
Ethel was a loving daughter, sister, Mommy, Mamaw, and Mimi. She was everyone’s little Mamaw. Being blood related was not required. She was a born again Christian and it showed in her actions. She was kind, caring and selfless. She was loved by all who had the honor of meeting her. She was truly amazing and will be missed beyond measure.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Debbie Clubb, Donna Blazer, Ronnie Clubb and wife Triena, Brenda Lynd, Danny Clubb, Kenny Clubb and wife Cindy, Ruth Pitts and husband Jimmy, and Alean Pitts and husband Randy; grandchildren: Eric Carver (Tonya), Nick Messer (Crystal), James Messer, Robert Messer (Jaime), Larry Wilson (Janice), Brian Blazer (Shawna), Tiffany Brock, Holly Brock (Jessica), April Banning, James Clubb, Brooke Murray (Nick), Tamera Davis (Bobby), Tommy Stamey, Keli Carver (Vinson), Ricky Carver (Mary), Scotty Carver (Michelle), Misty Lipe, Bobby Clubb, Candace Clubb, Julie Clubb (Josh), JD Clubb (Lauren), Misty Thomas (Andrew), Christy Zibelin, Kamie Clubb (Richard), George Pitts (Cynthia), Alisha Williams (Brandon), Amy Ray (John), Gregg Pitts (Amanda), Jacqui Doran (Zach), Jamara Dalton, and Maranda Penley (Zach); 81 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren and 4 on the way; sisters: Mary Pierce, and Ruby Keen; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
