Doris Dotson Moore

Doris Dotson Moore, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on March 16, 1941, she was a native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County. Doris will be lovingly remembered for her warm spirit and her dedication to her family and friends.

Doris was an accomplished individual, graduating from A.C. Reynolds High School. Her love for music was evident throughout her life. She attended Gashes Creek Baptist Church for many years, where she not only found a spiritual home but also shared her talent with others. Doris enjoyed playing the piano and sharing her voice as part of the "Dotson Trio," singing alongside her siblings, creating beautiful melodies that resonated with all who heard them.

She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Boone and her husband Jerry, along with several nieces and nephews who fondly remember her vibrant presence and the joy she brought into their lives.

Doris was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Harley William Dotson and Nellie Rebecca Lytle Dotson, as well as her brother, Roby Dotson. They welcomed her into heaven, where they were reunited.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Gashes Creek Baptist Church, located at 308 Gashes Creek Road, Asheville, NC, beginning at 1:00 PM and concluding at 1:45 PM. Following this, a funeral service will take place at the church at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Nesbitt's Chapel Cemetery in Fairview.

Doris Dotson Moore leaves behind a legacy of love, music, and community, one that will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
