Donna Kay Collins

Asheville - Donna Kay Gasperson Collins, 57, of 20 Collins Mountain Dr. died Thursday, June 3, 2004 at Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she, along with her husband, was the co-owner & operator of Collins Mountain Apts. Mrs. Collins was the daughter of Elizabeth Jenkins Gasperson Flynn of Candler and the late William Gasperson. Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Jerry Collins, Sr. of the home; daughter, Debbie Solesby and husband Brian of Fairview; son, Jerry Collins, Jr., of Asheville; grandchildren, Sara Collins, Kelly Solesby and Tori Solesby; sisters, Daisy Gasperson and Hilda Gasperson both of Candler; brother, Arnold Gasperson of Arden. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jack W. Collins and Charlie Sams officiating. Burial will be in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 PM Saturday at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the residence.
