Dillard Wayne Plemmons

Leicester Dillard Wayne Plemmons, 73, of 4044 New Leicester Highway, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2009 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Madison County, Mr. Plemmons lived in Buncombe County most of his life and retired from APAC Carolina. He was the son of the late Vincent and Pearl Freeman Plemmons, and the husband of the late Catherine Plemmons. Surviving are his longtime girlfriend, Helen Rice of Marshall; son, Roger Plemmons of Weaverville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Dale Clark of Leicester; special friends: Mr. and Mrs. Terry Presnell, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Miller, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles McMinn; and his faithful Black Lab, Blackie. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Burial will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
