Claude "Jerry" Towe

Claude Jerry Towe, 73, of Candler, N.C., Went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Charles George VA Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Asheville in November 1951, Jerry was the son of the late Howard William Towe and Ellen Dora Arrington. After graduating from high school, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Following his military service, he worked as a CNA at the Charles George VA Medical Center, where he dedicated himself to caring for fellow veterans.

Jerry loved football games, reading, spending time outdoors, and wildlife. Jerry loved his trips to Cades Cove and Cataloochee with his family. He enjoyed watching his western tv shows, and Alaskan TV shows, also completing word searches, but above all, he cherished spending time with his family. He was a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Towe; his sons: Christopher Towe, Kenneth Towe (Crystal), Cameron Towe (Megan), Nathan Towe, and brother, Bobby Towe (Wanda); and his grandchildren: Heather Towe, Kevin Towe, Ian Powers, Avelyn Towe, Abigail Powers, Zaidie Towe, Avery Powers, Jackson Towe, Bentley Towe, Bennie Towe, and Owen Towe. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Brenda Joan Allen Towe, Nancy Jean Loftin Towe, and Howard Towe.
