Bruce Wilson

Swannanoa Donald Bruce Wilson, 79, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Yancey County, he had resided in Buncombe County most of his life. He retired as Owner & Operator of D.B. Wilson Trucking Company and his love of life was his work, his family and friends. Mr. Wilson was a son of the late Paul Rufus Wilson and Carrie Styles Wilson. He was also preceded in death by the mother of his children, his former wife, Elizabeth Marie Wilson who died July 6, 2013 and brother-in-law, Max Parham. Surviving are his daughter, Tricia Wilkerson (Tony) and son, Donald Wilson (Amanda) all of Swannanoa; grandchildren, Ryan, Ashley and Hallie Evans, Dustin Wilson, Tasha Wright and Joseph and Matthew Surratt; four great grandchildren; sister, Betty Parham of Leicester; brother, Harold Wilson (Gail) of Tryon and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Gods Way Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
