Bonnie Mae Collins, 87, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the Solace Center.

 A native of Buncombe County, Bonnie devoted her life to her faith and family. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and caregiver, she spent most of her life working as owner and operator of her daycare and volunteering at church and the Salvation Army. For decades, she opened her home and heart to countless children and families, forming life-long bonds—her home always a haven of warmth and security. Known for her beautiful flowers, she could often be found outside working in her garden.

 She was the daughter of the late J.B. Meadows and Cumi Shelton Meadows. Bonnie was also preceded in death by her husband, Troy Samuel Collins; brothers: Larry Meadows, Charlie Meadows, Don Meadows, and Herschel Meadows; and grandson, David L. Trammel Jr.

 Surviving are her children: Clara Collins, Debra Johnston (Tommy), Peggy Lynn (Gary), Sandy Frisbee (Sanford), and Hugh Green (Sharon); grandchildren: Michael Burrell (Jennifer), Eddie Burrell, Jennifer Burrell Stimpson (Lee), Susan Trammel, Angela Johnston (Robbie), Brian Johnston, and Callie Green; 16 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; and brother, Thomas Meadows.

 Services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, June 5, 2025, in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Elder Dwayne Maxwell officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

 Bonnie’s immense strength and unwavering resolve, even through tough times, will live on in her family. She will be greatly missed. Until we meet again; we love you.
