Betty "Polly" Howell

Betty Polly Howell Asheville Betty Callie Polly Capps Howell, 80, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014 at Stonecreek Health and Rehab Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Howell had worked for 20 years with National Linen Service before retiring from Mission Hospitals following another 20 years of service. She was also a long time member of Gods Filling Station. Mrs. Howell was the daughter of the late Clarence and Adeline Creasman Capps, and was the wife of Frank O. Howell, who passed away May 3, 1973. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Guy; three brothers and one sister. Surviving are her daughters: Joyce Raines Helton and husband Grady, and Janice Fish and husband Mike; grandchildren: Charles, Robert, Steven, Jason, J.R., & Jennifer Raines, Mitch Hensley, Brandon Guy, and Brian Fish; eight great-grandchildren, one great, great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at Gods Filling Station with Pastor Steve Brockwell and Rev. Robert Raines officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following services at the church. The family would like to express a special Thank You to the staff of Stonecreek Health and Rehab Center for their loving care for Mrs. Howell.
