Bernice Boyd

West Asheville - Delphia Bernice Boyd, 69, of 177 School Road, Malvern Hills died Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at St. Josephs Hospital following a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. Miss Boyd retired in 1996 from Commercial Credit Co. after 41 years of service. She was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladys Sunday School Class. She was the daughter of the late Denver Taft and Pearl Embler Boyd. Surviving are her sister, Reva Henline and husband Buzz of Asheville; brothers, Earl Boyd and wife Eudeen of Leicester and Gilmer Boyd and wife Chris with whom she made her home; 1 niece and 6 nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gordon Ball and Rev. G E Freeman officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM Sunday in Turkey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
