Arville Thomas "Tommy" Bassett

Perkinston, Mississippi, Arville Thomas Tommy Bassett, 69 of Perkinston, Mississippi and formerly of Asheville, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2007 after a brief illness. He will be forever missed by all who knew him, family and friends. Born in Asheville, July 20, 1937, he was a son of the late William Penn Bassett and Leona Shope Bassett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Robin D. Bassett; his granddaughter Nicole Robinson; his brothers, Claude, Jack, Bill, and Charles Bassett; and his sisters, Ruby Price, and Gertrude Buckner. Tommy is survived by his former wife Bonnie K. Bassett; his sons, Thomas M. Bassett, Terry L Bassett, Robert A. McHone, Tommy E. Moore, Roy L. Bassett, David H. Bassett, and James Burrell; his daughters, Sue Robinson, and Kay Hunter, 12 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. His Funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at Ramsey Creek Baptist Church, Saucier, Mississippi, and he was buried in Whittington Family Cemetery in the woods he so loved. The family will receive friends 7 to 9p.m Saturday, March 3, 2007 at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
