Annie Rogers

November 8, 1921 — February 14, 2015

Asheville - Annie Bell Buckner Rogers, 93, of Asheville, went to be with her Lord Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Rogers had resided in Buncombe County for most of her life. She retired from DVille as a presser, and was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church. Her family and her church family were her life. Mrs. Rogers was the daughter of the late Luartie Rice Buckner Cudd, and the wife of James Lloyd Rogers, who passed away in 1977. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Wilma Penley; great, great-granddaughter, Everleigh Rogers; and four brothers. Surviving are her sons: David Rogers and wife Joan of Leicester, Wayne Rogers and wife Sabra of Weaverville, and Jimmy Rogers and wife Parry of Asheville; son-in-law, Robert Penley of Leicester; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 16 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Rogers, Rev. Larry Sprinkle, and Rev. Troy Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 10:45 AM Monday at the church. Memorial donations may be made to CarePartners Hospice, 25338, Asheville, NC 28813. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the Rogers family.
