Albert Gene Pike

Albert Gene Pike, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at his home while surrounded by his family.

A native and lifelong resident of Asheville, he was a son of the late Carl Baxter Pike and Jennie Hollifield Pike, and husband of 63 years to the late Wanda M. Pike who passed away on December 17, 2022. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Carla King; son, Harold Pike; and brothers: Elbert “Cork” Pike, Evertt “Ham” Pike, Bobb Gibbs, and T.A. “Tuff” Gibbs.

Albert loved the Lord and was a longtime member of Eagle Rock Church. He worked for many years as a lineman for Pike Construction, CP&L, Duke Energy, and finally retiring from MB Haynes.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Elaine Garrett and Annette Candler; grandchildren: Joshua “Josh”, Caleb, Crystal, Angel (Jon), Amber, Bradley, Bryan, Jodi, and Jenna; great-grandchildren: Duncan, Owen, Anniston, and Levi; great-great-granddaughters, Oakley and Harper; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 4 PM on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Eagle Rock Church, 2176 US-70, Swannanoa, with Pastor Ramona Nix officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 till 3:45 PM on Tuesday in the fellowship hall of the church prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Albert’s memory to Eagle Rock Church, 2176 US-70, Swannanoa, NC 28778.

The Pike family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff of CarePartners Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion given to Albert and his family.

Pallbearers will be: Josh, Caleb, Jon, Chris, Roper, and Rocky.
