Von H. Lawson

Woodfin - Von Hopson Lawson, 99, of 4 Washington Avenue passed away Thursday June 23, 2011 at the Brian Center of Weaverville. A native of Union County, TN, she had resided in Buncombe County most of her life. She retired from Beacon Manufacturing Co, and was a member of Newbridge Baptist Church. Mrs. Lawson was a daughter of the late Charles William and Dona Smith Hopson and the wife of the late Ruel Edward Lawson who died in 1962. Surviving are her sister, Anna Ray of Weaverville and several nieces and nephews including Larry Ray and wife Ann of the home. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Clarence Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
