Virginia Greene

ASHEVILLE - Virginia Ann Sprinkle Greene, 89, formerly of Old Marshall Highway, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at the home of her daughter. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Greene had resided in Buncombe County for most of her life. She retired as a supervisor from American Enka, and was a member of Light of Life Tabernacle. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who will be greatly missed by her family. Mrs. Greene was the daughter of the late James Riley and Pearl Stines Sprinkle, and was the wife of the late Ellis Greene. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Joann Sprinkle Hawkins; and her brother, Jack Sprinkle. Surviving are her daughter, Debbie Mills and husband Billy; and grandsons: Rev. Jason Mills and wife Heather, and Kevin Mills. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Greene, Rev. Jimmy Dykes, and Rev. Jason Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 1:00 2:30 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
