Vickie Mcelroy Hawkins

Candler Vickie Lynn McElroy Hawkins, 58, of 29 Milk Sick Cove Road, went to be with her Lord on Friday, December 11, 2015 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she served as an Insurance Agent for 28 years, having retired in 2015 and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Vickie was a daughter of Blanche Miller McElroy of Candler and the late John Edward McElroy. Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband whom she married November 7, 1980, Timothy John Tim Hawkins of the home; step son, Allan Hawkins; sister, Robin Caldwell and husband Jim of Candler; niece, Amie Davis and husband Landon and their daughter Porter Lennox Davis all of Asheville and several cousins, including Katha Phillips Bowman and Ronda Phillips Brookshire both of Candler. Memorial services will be held at 3 PM Sunday, December 13, 2015 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Derrick McCarson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following services at the funeral home.
