Weaverville - Ruth Ray Wilson. 86, went to her heavenly home on Monday March 30, 2009 at the Brian Center of Weaverville after an extended illness. Ruth was born August 13, 1922 in Madison County to the late Prince and Effie Ray. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Weaverville. She was a teacher at Red Oak Elementary School for 22 years and a member of the NCRSP group of retired teachers. Ruth was also preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Clark, Iris Hughey and Mary Bell and a brother Brooks Ray. Ruth was the wife of the late Robert L. Wilson and is survived by daughters, Elizabeth Lib Coble and husband Donnie of Hickory and Debi Graves and husband Jim of Jamestown and by a very special grandson, Tyler Graves. She is also survived by brothers, Dan Ray and John Ray and wife Lettie both of Weaverville; 15 nieces and nephews; 29 great nieces and nephews and 29 great great nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Sabrina, who will all miss her. The family expresses gratitude to the very special caregivers who provided care and companionship to their mother. It was more than a job and we know and recognize your loss. The family wishes to thank the Hospice team for their care and concern. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church of Weaverville with the Revs. Sarah Fouts and Skip Gillikin officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
