Richard C. Bell, Jr.

Candler Richard Charles Bell, Jr., 62, of 51 Pine Tree Drive, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Bell was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County. He retired in 2009 following 38 years of service with the Norfolk Southern Railroad where at the time of his retirement, he served as Senior General Foreman over the Mechanical Department. Mr. Bell was an active worshiping member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed all outdoor activities, including riding his motorcycle, fly fishing and boating. He was the son of the late Richard Charles Bell and Dorothy Christine Elliott Bell and was the husband of Marie K. Bell who died in 2002. Surviving are his daughter, Tina Bartell and husband Craig, son, Jeff Bell and wife Linda, grandson, Odin Richard Bell and sister, Marsha Lynch and husband Lloyd all of Asheville; sister-in-law, Rojeanous Rush and husband Mike of Candler; brother-in-law, John Kinsey of Florida; girlfriend and honey bunny Debi Lundgren of Enka and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 1 PM Friday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Preston Wagner and Rev. Michael McFarland. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial services at the church. Memorial graveside services will be held 4 PM Friday at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
