Rev. C. Jackson Jack Robinson, 93, of Black Mountain and formerly of Brevard, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the NC State Veterans Home. A native of Western North Carolina, he was the son of the late Charles Gilbert Robinson and Martha Rebecca Fortner Robinson. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Evelyn Wilson Robinson who passed away in 1997; a grandson, Jason; and siblings: Annie Caldwell, Ralph Robinson, J.B. James Robinson, Faye Reid, Clara Worley, Virginia Newman, Corky Robinson, and Billy Robinson. Rev. Robinson was a Veteran of the US Navy having served in WWII, and a graduate of Wake Forest and Crozier Theological Seminary. He was a Methodist Minister and served in the Peninsula Conference of the United Methodist Church from 1960 1988, and at Elkwood UMC from 1992 to 1996. He is survived by his daughters: Rebecca Wolf and husband Karl, Deborah Andrews and husband Mike, Jacklyn Leitzel and husband Jeff, Carol Robinson and husband Mark Richardson; Grandchildren: Kelly Ritsema, Brian Wolf, Tara Leitzel, Justin Ritsema, Meredith Huveneers, Jonathan Hudak, Matthew Wolf, Katelin Lovell, and Jake, Ruth, and Eleanor Richardson; Great grandson, Franklin Huveneers; sister, Polly Palmer. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, February 3, 2017 in the Chapel at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with Rev. John Reid officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 PM Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
