Renith Williams Chancey

September 15, 1939 — November 22, 2017

Renith Williams Chancey, 78, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Benjamin Williams and Myrtle Marie Hill Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond H. Chancey, who passed away August 14, 2017; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Chancey; and a brother, Victor Darrell Williams. Mrs. Chancey was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and a member of Newfound Baptist Church. Surviving are her children: Deborah Chancey Scroggins and husband Garry, Janet Chancey Crabtree and husband Rick, Cynthia Chancey Allen and husband Jeff and Kevin Ray Chancey and wife Wendy; grandchildren: Alicia Khim, Jeremy Crabtree, Rodney Scroggins, Eric Allen, Dustin Scroggins, Matthew Chancey, and Mitchell Chancey; six great grandchildren; sisters: Edna Hill Johnson of Missouri, and Tanya Williams Shores and husband John of Savannah, GA; brother, Corwin Brent Williams and wife Debbie of Candler; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12 PM Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain. Military Honors will be provided by the U.S. Air Force.
