Ralph Metcalf

Asheville Ralph Metcalf, 79, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native and resident most of his life of Buncombe County, he retired from Sayles Biltmore Bleacheries and was formerly employed in Security as a Guard for Biltmore Square Mall and Mission Hospitals and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Metcalf was the son of the late Levi Metcalf and Bertha Wells Metcalf and was also preceded in death by his brothers, James, Charley and Clarence and sisters, Kathleen, Rachel, Hester, Lula, Genell and Elizabeth. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, B. Faye Ball Metcalf of the home; son, Johnny L. Metcalf and wife Gwen of Concord; daughter, Taunia Laflin and husband Harold of Asheville; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Faye Fisher and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, March 21, 2015 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Buchanan, Rev. Travis Laflin and Rev. Dr. John T. Tiller officiating.
