Nelson Ferg

Hendersonville Nelson Mark Ferg, 73, of Hendersonville passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011 at The Laurels of Hendersonville. A native of Johnstown, PA. He was the son of the late Harold and Miriam Ferg. Nelson is survived by his wife, Jeanne Kiser Ferg; brother, Scott Ferg (Penny) of Pennsylvania; sister, Mardell Williamson (Wray) of Florida; sons, Richard Shumar (Mary), Harold Shumar and Michael Ferg (Marcie); daughter, Cathy Baker and four grandchildren. He will be affectionately remembered by family, friends, neighbors and former coworkers. He held executive positions with Rockwell International, Schwitzer Household Company, W.P. Hickman and the owner of Asheville Acoustics. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for St. Josephs Hospital and the Asheville Regional Airport Authority. A memorial service will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, March 5, 2011 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Aileen Mitchell Lawrimore officiating.
