Maurice Clark

Candler Maurice Albert Clark, 76, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 13, 2017 at the St Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Madison County, he lived in Buncombe County most of his life. He retired from BASF and was a member of Lake Hills Church, where he recently was Treasurer and Financial Director, and he enjoyed serving the Lord. He graduated from WCU and was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Clark was the son of the late Albert Lee Clark and Irene Rector Clark and husband for 53 years of Sandra Kaye Ramsey Clark who died April 26, 2016. He was also preceded in death by three sisters. Surviving are his son, Lee Clark; sister, Rhonda Rigsby; brothers-in-law, Donnie Ramsey and Boyce Ramsey and numerous nieces, nephews and many adopted children. Funeral services will be held at 5 PM Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Lake Hills Church with Rev. Dr. James Walker and Pastor Stephen Buys officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 PM Thursday at the church. Burial will be at 10 AM Friday at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military honors conducted by the NC National Guard Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be his nephews.
