Mary Fay Long

June 15, 1945 — September 2, 2007

Candler Mary Fay Hill Long, 62, of 66 Hurst Drive, died Sunday, September 2, 2007 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. Mrs. Long was a homemaker, member of Starnes Cove Baptist Church and a member of the Pochantas Council. She was a daughter of the late William Luther Hill and Ruth Helen Mauck Hill and was also preceded in death by her two brothers, George William Hill and Richard Lee Hill. Surviving are her husband, James Burgin J.B. Long of the home; son, Charles William Charlie Long of the home and his fiancee, Angie Irene Brown of Candler; sister, Georgia Hill Harrell and husband, Wes of Fredericksburg, VA; brothers, her twin brother Albert Ray Hill and wife, Texie of Englewood, TN, Roy Thomas Hill and wife, Linda of Asheville, Lloyd James Hill and wife, Doris of Arden and Floyd Eugene Hill of Asheville; several nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Sams and Rev. John Davis officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
